Link Purchase Behavior with Consumer
Attitudes
The Nielsen Homescan™ Panel offers the unique capability
to link purchase behavior with consumer attitudes, providing
new insights into what drives product preferences.
Using a patented hand-held scanner, the Nielsen Homescan
Panel of 125,000 U.S. households record all UPC-barcoded products
from every outlet. Panel Views Surveys are used to collect attitudinal
and user information. Linking survey
results with purchase information from the same households
reveals many of the underlying “whys” surrounding
consumer purchase behavior.
Custom Surveys
Custom Surveys typically focus on a specific topic/category
for one marketer. Field to the entire Homescan Panel,
a subset, or a specific target group based on actual purchase
behavior, demographics or other known characteristics.
Omnibus Surveys
Omnibus Surveys are surveys that consist
of one, two or three questions from several different marketers,
thereby covering a variety of different topics. These surveys
are fielded each month to alternating halves of the panel.
