Targeting in Spectra systems

Prerequisites:
Spectra systems Jump Start or Equivalent Experience

Overview:
At the end of this session students will be able to create accurate targets using the Target Manager and apply those targets to geographies, cross merchandising and other marketing goals through the target specific reports.

Business Applications:
When marketing questions arise, a specific consumer type is being addressed. Rather than pursuing anyone who has ever purchased the product, a particular audience is generally targeted. Creating the consumer target and then taking it a step further to find out where they live and shop, what media they are attracted to, what other products they will likely buy and what they do for entertainment can all be accomplished through web based Spectra systems.

Clustering in Spectra systems

Prerequisites:
Spectra systems Jump Start or Equivalent Experience

Overview:
Students in this session will learn how to use Cluster Manager to create groups of stores. Cluster Manager allows you to group together similar stores based on defining characteristics to help you specifically tailor and execute merchandising programs. Since execution on a store-by-store basis can be somewhat unrealistic, creating meaningful store clusters helps you to go beyond the one-size fits all approach to merchandising. Using clusters in reports will also be taught.

Business Applications:
Large accounts can be a sales and marketing nightmare. You can't treat all shoppers alike; neither can you focus on each store as an individual. Store clustering is the most efficient way to set programs for stores based on maximizing similarities and minimizing differences among stores within the same cluster. Stores in a single cluster should be fairly homogeneous, while the clusters themselves should be different from one another. The Cluster Manager allows the user to create a specified number of clusters for a focus account. Store clustering can be done based on the Spectra systems Framework, product demand or demographic variables. The clusters then can be applied within various reports to allow for accurate and focused recommendations for plan-o-grams, sales and marketing needs.
