the ACNielsen Workstation Information*Server?
The ACNielsen Workstation Information*Server is ACNielsen's
32-bit information delivery platform to take ACNielsen information
delivery tools into the next century. Workstation Information*Server
is the foundation for access to all ACNielsen information
moving forward.
Is ACNielsen Workstation Information*Server Y2K compliant?
Yes. All components of the ACNielsen Workstation Information*Server
have been certified as Y2K compliant.
I have heard there are some great new features in
ACNielsen's interface to Microsoft Office or NITRO (included
with Workstation Information*Server) – what are they?

- Titles returned in Excel containing the conditional selection
text.
- Ability to use data dictionary fact formats.
- Ability to auto-arrange the dimensions.
- Ability to prompt for the database.
- Ability to read database selections from other ranges.
- Future releases will enable the same formatting capabilities
within MS PowerPoint and MS Word.
Is Workstation
Information*Server intended to replace the INF*ACT Workstation?
Yes. The ACNielsen Workstation Information*Server is the decision
support product that will eventually replace the 16-bit ACNielsen
INF*ACT Workstation.
Is the Workstation Information*Server backward compatible
with the INF*ACT Workstation?
Yes, many components are. Workstation Information*Server
was designed to make the transition for the customer and ACNielsen
as smooth as possible.
The INF*ACT Workstation
components that are compatible with Workstation Information*Server
are Data Dictionaries and NITE templates that were created
without coding to the INF*ACT Workstation API. The Workstation
Information*Server installer will prompt you if you want to
leverage current header files and dictionaries and will automatically
associate the new Enhanced Connectivity script file.
Can you run the INF*ACT Workstation & Workstation
Information*Server on the same PC?
Yes. The INF*ACT Workstation and Workstation Information*Server
can be installed and run at the same time on a single PC.
You will need separate header files for each product, however.
Will ACNielsen continue to support the current INF*ACT
Workstation product?
Yes. The current 16 bit INF*ACT Workstation product (version
5.0B) will continue to be supported. However, there will not
be another major release of the ACNielsen INF*ACT Workstation.
Bug fixes for INF*ACT Workstation will be in the form of maintenance
releases and technical bulletins.
